Are you excited for pancake day?
Here at Grunwerg, we have always loved Pancake day! And this year, we are even more excited than usual!
Taking some inspiration from BBC GoodFood, here is an easy peasy pancake recipe, complete with cooking instructions and the best utensils, guaranteed to produce the best pancakes you’ve ever had.
Prep: 10 Minutes (maybe extra, depending on how creative you like to get)
Level: Easy peasy lemon squeezy
Cook: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 100g plain flour
- 2 large eggs
- 300ml milk
- 1 tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil, plus a little extra for frying
- Food Colouring (optional)
- Choice of toppings: Lemon? Sugar? Ice Cream? Chocolate Sauce? Chocolate Sprinkles? You get the idea.
STEP 1
Put 100g of plain flour, 2 large eggs, 300ml milk, 1 tbsp of sunflower or vegetable oil and a pinch of salt into a mixing bowl, and whisk until it forms a smooth batter. We recommend using our Turbo Hand Whisk and our Stainless Steel mixing bowl for the ultimate batter!
STEP 2
Set aside for 30 minutes to rest if you have the time, or start cooking straight away if you can’t wait!
STEP 3
Place a frying pan over medium heat and carefully grease it with some oiled kitchen paper.
If you often find that your baking or cooking sticks to your frying pan, our Commichef Non-Stick Black Frying Pan provides a lightweight and comfortable design. Its non-stick coating makes it the ideal frying pan to use when cooking pancakes, and everyday use!
STEP 4
When the frying pan is hot, cook your pancakes for 1 min on each side until they turn golden (be careful not to burn). This is also where you can get a bit creative. Why not add some food colouring for a distinctive, never seen before pancake?! Or mix in some chocolate buttons for a sweet treat.
If you are cooking a large batch, you can keep them warm in the oven as you go. 😊
STEP 5
The final step, and the most fun, it’s time to serve and decorate with your favourite toppings! Sprinkle with sugar, squeeze with lemon, chill with ice cream or douse with chocolate sauce, it’s entirely up to you!
