The Roux Scholarship 2016 finalists have been announced!

Global Knives, proud sponsors of the Roux Scholarship are very excited that the finalists have been revealed, and one finalist is very much close to home!

The Roux Scholarship is the UK’s most prestigious cooking competition in the UK annual calendar. It invites chef’s from all over the UK to compete in a series of cooking challenges with an aim to win one very special, life changing prize.

There are 18 finalists who will go head to head in the regional finals which will be held on the 17th March. The group will be split into two.

The first group includes ten chefs - Greg Anderson, chef at Morston Hall, Martin Carabott, The Royal Automobile Club, Gregory Clarke, Midsummer House, Michael Cruickshank, The Montagu Arms Hotel,Scott Dineen, Goldman Sachs, Luke Fouracre, The Royal Oak Paley, Paul Matthews, Fieldfisher, Dimitrios Papapanagioutou, Cliveden House, Tim Peirson, Kensington Place, Jozef Rogulski, The Stafford Hotel, Adam Thomason, Deloitte, Michael Thompson, Fera at Claridge’s, Mayfair. They will be cooking in London to impress judges Alain Roux, Andrew Fairlie, David Nicholls and Simon Hulstone.

The second group will be cooking in Birmingham, and includes Joe Bailey, Greenway Hall Golf Club, Ben Champkin, L'Enclume, 
Harry Guy, Eden Hotel Collection, Adam Harper, Fischer’s, Thomas Moody, Lower Slaughter Manor, David Scarpato, Celtic Manor Resort, who will be judged by Michel Roux Jnr, Andre Garrett and Steve Love.

Five finalists will then be chosen to compete for a prize of a lifetime in the final on the 4th April 2016. The lucky winner, who impresses all 8 judges, is given the opportunity to work in a Michelin star restaurant anywhere in the world for six months, plus every major sponsor of the Scholarship, including Global Knives also rewards the winner with a generous gift.

The regional finals start on the 17th March and the Finals will commence on the 4th April.
