Global wins two awards!
Global has won first place in two esteemed awards, receiving a fifth consecutive win in the Chef’s Choice Awards 2014, and winning first place in the Which? Magazines best knife category.
Global, whose official distributor is I.Grunwerg Ltd. in Sheffield, is known for making the sharpest, most durable knives from a unique material that is special to the Global range, made in the Yoshikin factory in Japan. For nearly 30 years I.Grunwerg has distributed these prestigious knives to the best retailers and caterers in the UK.
For five consecutive years, Global has won first place in The Chef’s Choice Awards for being the best knife supplier, each year setting the standards high for its competitors. All of the prestigious kitchen knife brands are considered, including MAC and Victorinox who have taken second and third position. The Chef’s Choice Awards is run by Restaurant magazine, a leading publication in the food industry that specialises in reviewing restaurants, equipment, suppliers and products.
David Grunwerg, Director of I.Grunwerg, says: “This is the ultimate acclimation for Global Knives, from the people (professional chefs) that really matter.”
This award comes off the back of Global winning first place in the Which? Magazine that is highly known for testing, reviewing and advising the public of the best, latest household products to buy. Every 7-8 years Which? experts test the best knives in the market and since 1997 Global has come out top dog. Every time the lab has been very impressed with the knife and has recommended it as a best buy item. In the latest report, the knives scored a high 93% in the Which? test, 10% higher than the second place winner for having an excellent multipurpose knife.
Mino Tsuchida, Director of International Sales for Global knives says, “We at Global Knives pride ourselves in making the best knives for our customers. We are very proud to receive this award on the eve of our 30th Anniversary.”
Next year the Global brand will be celebrating its 30th anniversary, which includes Global, Global Sai and the Michel Roux collection. For more information, follow us on Facebook/globalknives and Twitter @Globalknives_uk or contact Sophie Newton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
